Helping overwhelmed women find healing to feel like themselves again.
Counseling and Art Therapy in Herndon, Virginia.
You’re the kind of person who wants to get it right, but the pressure to hold it all together is getting heavy. People see you as someone who “has it all together” but inside you feel like you are falling apart.
You are moving through your days feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and unsure of yourself. Intrusive thoughts linger beneath the surface: fears that feel too big to say out loud, or layers upon on layers of shame, anxiety, and worries.
Maybe old stories are bubbling back up; disordered eating, body shame, trauma, depression, grief, loss, postpartum challenges, or even moments of “rage” have started to shape your days in ways you didn’t expect.
You don’t have to do this alone.
Therapy is a space where you can take the pressure off, feel seen, and start reconnecting with who you really are at your core. It’s a space of acceptance, with a therapist who doesn’t just prescribe a treatment plan, but who can understand and partner with you to support your healing and wholeness.
Meet Alanna Betts, MA, LPC, ATR, PMH-C
Hi! I’m Alanna.
As a Counselor, Art Therapist, and EMDR-trained clinician, I am dedicated to helping you navigate life’s challenges with compassion. By integrating art therapy with other proven therapeutic approaches, I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you can uncover your inner strength, build resilience, and experience authentic healing.
My clients come to me struggling with eating disorders, body image, pregnancy/postpartum mood or anxiety disorders, trauma, perfectionism, or a mountain shame and stress.
I believe that a genuine and transparent therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of meaningful growth, and I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward wellness and empowerment.
Art Therapy
Art Therapy blends talk therapy with the power of creative expression. You don’t need any art experience, just curiosity and openness. By engaging your senses through art-making, this approach can access parts of the brain where words fall short, helping you process emotions, release stuck memories, and explore healing in a deeper, more holistic way. Whether you're navigating trauma, motherhood, birth trauma, body image, or an eating disorder, Art Therapy offers a safe and empowering path forward.
Art therapy offers a safe, compassionate space to explore your story and begin to heal: one image, one color, one line, one breath at a time.
